ABOUT LAUREL SEGEL

Originally from Los Angeles, Laurel has studied all facets of fine art and design throughout her entire education which includes the University of Hawaii at Manoa, University of London, and California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, and where she received her BS in Design. On-going education includes web design, fine art, and software courses.

A rich and varied work experience includes interior design, theatrical set design, animation, and graphic/web design. All things building on the ability to set a mood using the principles and elements of design — color, shape, balance, and composition — and the tools of each trade (typefaces, furniture, lighting, or computer platforms).

Laurel’s background in fine art enables her to represent each client’s unique personality through logo and corporate identity development. Her experience as a senior graphic designer in the corporate world brings the opportunity to lend her talent to meeting business objectives through the effective design of traditional print media such as direct mail and brochures. Laurel’s proven skills in user interface design and web production enables her to bring a client’s message to life in the online world including websites, email campaigns and online advertising.

Computer skills include: photoshop, illustrator, in design, HTML, javascript, CSS, and dreamweaver. Laurel is a member of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) and the Sierra Club.

Living in San Francisco for the past 10 years, along with extensive travel and much time outdoors, has continually fueled her creative process.
